李鹏/Peng Li, Ph.D.

Juan de la Cierva Postdoc fellow at BCBL

Hi, there!

My name is Peng Li. I hold a Ph.D. degree from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain) . I am currently a Juan de la Cierva post-doc fellow at BCBL (Spain).

I have done research related to second language (L2) speech acquisition, multimodal phonetic training, phonetics and prosodic studies, and bilingualism. My research can be summarized in three lines.

  • L2 speech acquisition. I focus on the crosslinguistic transfer between learners L1 and L2 and the role of individual differences (e.g., musicality, auditory skills, and memory) in L2 speech learning.
  • L2 phonetic training. I try to develop various training techniques for L2 phonetic and prosodic learning, including hand gestures, high-variability training, auditory training, etc.
  • Chinese studies. In addition to L2 studies, I am also interested in the prosody-pragmatic interface in Mandarin Chinese and the lexical exchange between China and Japan.
  • Feel free to contact me when you have any questions or comments about my research, or if you are interested in collaboration!
