Hi, there!
My name is Peng Li. I hold a Ph.D. degree from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain) . I am currently a Juan de la Cierva research fellow at BCBL (Spain).
I have done research related to second language (L2) speech acquisition, multimodal phonetic training, phonetics and prosodic studies, and bilingualism. My research can be summarized in three lines.
L2 speech acquisition. I focus on the crosslinguistic transfer between learners L1 and L2 and the role of individual differences (e.g., musicality, auditory skills, and memory) in L2 speech learning.
L2 phonetic training. I try to develop various training techniques for L2 phonetic and prosodic learning, including hand gestures, high-variability training, auditory training, etc.
Chinese studies. In addition to L2 studies, I am also interested in the prosody-pragmatic interface in Mandarin Chinese and the lexical exchange between China and Japan.
Feel free to contact me when you have any questions or comments about my research, or if you are interested in collaboration!
