李鹏/Peng Li, Ph.D.

Junior Researcher at University of Lisbon

Short bio [CV]

I am currently a Junior Researcher at Center of Linguistics, University of Lisbon (CLUL), Portugal, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).

I received my Ph.D. in Translation and Language Science (2021) from the University Pompeu Fabra, Spain. After that, I worked as a Post-doc Fellow in Psycholinguistics (2022-23) at the University of Oslo (UiO), Norway. Then, I was granted Juan de la Cierva fellow (2024-25) by the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI) and worked at the Basque Center on Cognition, Brain, and Language (BCBL), Spain. Before moving to Europe, I was a Lecturer of Japanese Studies (2013-17) at the University of Hefei (China).

My research can be summarized in three lines

  • Speech and bilingualism. I focus on the crosslinguistic transfer between bilingual speakers' first and second languages.
  • Multimodal phonetic training. I develop various training techniques for L2 phonetic and prosodic learning, including hand gestures, visual feedback, tactile feedback, auditory training, etc.
  • Individual differences in SLA. I try to understand how cognitive and experiential factors affect the development of L2 speech acquisition.
